Meet Trevor Booker – The NBA’s Top Entrepreneur
Featured on Forbes and Business Insider, Trevor Booker is as invested off the court as he is on it through various different entrepreneurial pursuits that have well-prepared Booker for life after Basketball. To actually call Booker an entrepreneur is an understatement as he already owns 18 different companies including sports academies, a private high school, and a record label. Even though he has gained a lot of experience from growing these businesses, Booker has continued to be a learner of the game as he took a recent trip with the NBPA to Silicon Valley to learn about startups in the area. It’s been a great opportunity for Booker to grow his partnerships and seek projects to pursue and expand upon in his pipeline.
Booker’s latest pursuit has been the launch of his venture capital firm, JB Fitzgerald, started with his college roommate, Jonah Baize. The VC Firm has invested in numerous big projects including a number of diverse real estate projects, a medical equipment company, a software tech company, and even the MLS soccer franchise D.C. United. Trevor’s emphasis on life beyond basketball goes deeper than just investing as he’s a strong advocate for STEM education and encourages kids to focus on their education, which carries far more value than anything else.
It’s been an amazing journey for Booker who has had a very successful career in the NBA and was a strong leader for the Nets this past season as he averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds including grabbing 10+ rebounds in 22 games. He’s not even close to getting done and the upcoming season should prove to be an even better one with the new additions of Russell and fellow ASM client, Mozgov.
