Myles Turner the new Blocks Leader
After having an amazing first game to start the season with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks, Myles Turner had to take a good amount of time away from the game as he recovered from injury. It took Turner some time to get into a rhythm with the Pacers as they had been on a winning streak without him but once Turner got his feet back, he excelled as the defensive force that the Pacers needed. Myles was the reliable defensive wall that sealed the win against the Grizzlies with his last minute block and rebound. He followed that up with his blocks against some of the best players in the league including Lebron once again.
As the 9th week of the league came upon us, there was a new leader on the blocks board as Myles Turner had the most blocks tallied up for any player with 48 for the season and leads the league in averaging 2.4 blocks per game. Turner is the only player to have produced a block in every single game he has played in this season and has made 3 or more blocks in 11 games in the season. Its an impressive feat for Turner considering he was out for a good amount of games and yet came back to not only have his stats catch up with the rest of the league but to lead them all. Turner is making great strides in claiming the Defensive Player of the Year award for the season and as he continues leading the Pacers, it’ll be hard to stop him.
