Malik Beasley Slowly Rising Up the Ranks
Selected 19th overall in the 2016 NBA draft, Malik Beasley has come a long way from his years playing at Florida State. He has been very patient and took full advantage of the opportunity to play on the G League’s Skyforce team. Using this time to develop his game, he credits them with helping him to learn how to stay focused and ready, get his rhythm, get him into shape, and bettering his defense. Beasley’s hard work off the court with Mike Miller during the summer months also contributed to his development as a player. Beasley earned the respect of Mike Miller as he continued to push the pace and learn from the championship winning veteran.
The relentless work ethic that Beasley displayed is carrying over onto the court, as he is taking full advantage of his first significant NBA minutes. Joining the Nuggets rotation after Juancho Hernangomez was injured has opened up the opportunity and Beasley is proving to coach Michael Malone that he deserves to be on the court. Maximizing the minutes that he has been given, he has been playing with confidence and aggression, showing just how much of a well-rounded player he has developed into. It is still early in the season but great things are expected to come from this young player for a very long time in this league.
