Kyle Lowry Ready for Playoffs
Kyle Lowry underwent wrist surgery post All-Star Weekend for a sore wrist that was bothering him. There was speculation he might not be ready for the playoffs, but Lowry came back early, and has shown otherwise.
In Kyle’s first game back he put up 27 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and shot 56% from the floor as well as 40% from 3. Kyle has played 2 games since, with totals averaging 19 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds, shooting 48% from the floor and 37% from 3. The Raptors have won all 3 games, showing the acquisition of Serge Ibaka was a wise one. The Raptors look strong, and having their point guard at full strength helps.
With the roster at full strength, and Lowry back at the starting point guard position, the Raptors are optimistic, even if Casey admits that Cleveland is still the team to beat in the East. For DeRozan, having his backcourt mate back in the lineup has made a world of difference. “Just having his mind and body [back on the court] means a lot,” DeRozan said. “A lot of time Kyle doesn’t have to get it going to will us to victory.”
The Raptors will enter the playoffs as the third seed.
