ASM Family Gives Back During Thanksgiving Week

Malik Beasley isn’t just shining off the court, but also in the community. Over the past weekend, Beasley took time out to give back to the community. Partnering with an organization called IMPACT, located in downtown Denver, IMPACT prides themselves on providing as many people as possible with a simple act of kindness that can give them even the smallest impact in hopes of brightening someone’s day. Beasley along with other members of the community volunteered to give back to the less fortunate during this holiday season with the basic necessities. The event was reaching out to the homeless community in Denver with meals, clothing to help keep warm during the cold months and toiletries. The community was very appreciative of Beasley’s involvement and hopes that he comes back to volunteer again soon.

Fred Van Vleet, a huge star in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois went all in this year with his very own first annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway! Fred loves his community and wanted the athletic community that he was a part of growing up to be involved as well so he had the local high school basketball teams serve as volunteers to giveaway the meals and items. More than 200 turkeys were given away and Fred also gave away t-shirts from his signature clothing line. Fred received high praise from his high school basketball coach who was proud to see what a great individual Fred has become in giving back.

Jarell Martin hosted his own first annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive. Jarell partnered with Boys and Girls Club and Save-A-Lot food stores to give back in the Memphis Community. The families in need from the club received first priority in getting turkeys and all the dressings. It was great to see Jarell, who was drafted by the Grizzlies, to continue to get connected with the people of the great blues city. Media outlets were in attendance and interviewed Jarell while he also signed autographs and took pictures with the fans at the event.

Many other ASM players were involved in coat drives, local non-profits, and organizations during the week and we are glad to assist our clients in making an impact in the community!
